When I go to open a new world (Alt+F, O), how about making it so that the "Open" dialog box starts in C:\Progra~1\MUSHclient\worlds (taking into account if MUSHclient is installed elsewhere) by default? That's probably where all the world files are.

Under global preferences there is a 'default world directory'. I would thinks that it would open that by default in such cases.

I think that it would make sense for the MUSHclient installer to set the 'default world directory' to C:\progra~1\mushclient\worlds automatically, then.

It (the installer) is supposed to do that, and create the directory too. Did you use the installer to install MUSHclient? If so, which version did you install?

Yes, I used the installer to install MUSHclient. I have version 3.17 (I installed over my first version, which was 3.04 I think).

It only creates the default world directory variable (in the registry) and puts the correct value in it, if it doesn't already exist. Yours might. In other words, installing new versions of MUSHclient doesn't change the default world directory, which is probably what you want.

The relevant registry key is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Gammon Software Solutions\MUSHclient\Global prefs\DefaultWorldFileDirectory
