I've recently downloaded the Win version of SMAUG and I'd like to start making some extensions/changes to the basic world. I've searched on Google and dug through the commands available in the mud but I can't seem to find a map of the existing world. Does one exist, and if so, can someone point me to it?

Many thanks,
TMT

What - all of it? I think New Darkhaven has a map inbuilt that shows the streets and the shops. I forget the command to show it, but it is in the help somewhere.

As for the other areas, I know of no maps, but maybe someone else does.

I believe the prototype version of the offline editor ORB has the ability to map out an area. So you could just open up each stock area and get a primitive map of the area.

WOO HOO!!!!! My first answer to a question.

Type HELP MAP while in the game. That will give you an ASCII map of Darkhaven. As for other areas - well your pretty much on your own. Each game is going to be diferent. You could do it the old fasioned way and get some graph paper and map the world yourself.

Orb does infact have a map view feature, but it dosen't display rooms with up or down exits very well.

There are several sights if you search google ""SMAUG" "AREA" "MAPS"" That will have maps of some of the more common areas such as the pixie forrest or the graveyard. Other than that its back to paper and pencil.
